bookbook Closing Store, Will Do Pop-Ups

Beloved independent bookstore, bookbook (formerly known as Biography Books) has been located in the West Village for over thirty five years. First located at 400 Bleecker, it relocated to 266 Bleecker in 2010 after Marc Jacobs took over the space with Bookmarc.

bookbook with its wall to wall shelves of books with everything from kids books to rare first editions, was a gathering space for locals, visitors, writers and readers.

The owners Carolyn Epstein and Charles Mullin have decided to end their brick and mortar chapter and are planning to do pop-ups around the city, including the Abingdon Square Farmers Market. You can follow them on social media to find out where and sign up for the stores email list here.

bookbook’s last day will be May 19, 2019 (this coming Sunday). There will be a closing party 6:30pm-9:30pm at the store on May 23rd, complete with refreshments, as well as music from Gary Lucas beginning at 8:30pm.
